Like every member of the Apex Team, your role as Field Technician is key to the company’s success. While responsibilities of the Field Technician will vary day to day, in general you will often:
- Conduct asbestos and lead inspection and monitoring; soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling; storm water inspections and sampling; waste water sampling and other duties as needed at project sites
- Perform site inspections and safety assessments
- Oversee construction projects and associated tasks
- Actively develop your own career growth

Great minds think alike! Now that we understand each other, let’s sort through the minimum qualifications for this position:
- 3 to 10 years of experience in construction or field services
- High school degree – Associate’s degree preferred
- Ability to work with hand tools
- Clean driving and criminal records
- Own reliable transportation
- Ability to lift and carry 60 pounds, work in confined spaces, and work under inclement weather conditions
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification preferred
- Texas Department of State Health Services Asbestos Inspector
- Environmental sampling (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, waste) experience highly desired but not required, willing to train
- Stable employment history and favorable employment references
- Track record of excellent attendance and punctuality
- Preferred skillset but not required, willing to train:
- Texas Department of State Health Services Asbestos Air Monitoring Technician
- Texas Department of State Health Services Individual Management Planner
- Texas Department of State Health Services Asbestos Project Manager
- Texas Department of State Health Services Mold Assessment Technician
- Texas Department of State Health Services Lead Risk Assessor
- Texas Department of State Health Services Mold Assessment Consultant
- Texas Department of State Health Services Individual Asbestos Consultant
- Storm water BMP inspection experience
- SWPPP inspection experience
- SPCC inspection experience
