DRI is seeking to fill a full-time Custodial/Building Maintainer III, located in Reno, NV, working under general supervision, to perform various cleaning services in the Reno facilities, including the following responsibilities:
- Mopping, vacuuming, sweeping, trash pickup, cleaning, sanitizing and restocking restrooms.
- Performing scheduled floor maintenance tasks, such as steam cleaning carpets, and waxing/buffing tile floors.
- Maintaining janitorial equipment.
- Performing routine building maintenance and repairs to kitchen and restroom plumbing.
- Maintaining building safety and security by ensuring that doors are securely locked at all appropriate times and conducting building sweeps at close of business.
- Respond to on-call phone for fire, security, and mechanical failures for the campus.
- Assist with the Institute’s recycling program of paper, aluminum cans, plastics, cardboard, batteries, etc.
- Remove and/or de-ice stairs and sidewalks whenever snow or ice has accumulated.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two years of full-time experience performing custodial work.
- Basic mechanical skills.
- Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office Word and Outlook.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions, read/understand labels and mixing directions.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and safe work practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of personnel, including technical and academic staff.
- Proven success working within a team environment.
- Possession of valid driver’s license by date of hire.
Conditions of Employment
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
Compensation Grade
Minimum starting salary of $34,483.92; This position is eligible for benefits and relocation.
