Coeur Mining, Inc. is the largest U.S.-based primary silver producer and a growing gold producer. The Company has four precious metals mines in the Americas generating strong production, sales and cash flow. Coeur Alaska, a subsidiary of Coeur Mining Inc. is recruiting a Metallurgist for its Underground Kensington Gold Mine, located 45 miles north of Juneau, Alaska.
Responsibilities:
- The Metallurgist applies technical expertise/analysis to implement materials selection and process improvements to existing extraction processes
- Ensuring operations are running at maximum possible tonnage with the best possible recovery
- Monitoring and ensuring that mill consumables (reagents, media) are of the appropriate quality and quantity in order to ensure uninterrupted operations
- Coordinating the design and testing of flotation technology to improve concentrate grade
- Evaluating continuously and keeping abreast of new technologies for improving plant performance and efficiency
- Plan, coordinate, and implement research, development, or engineering projects involving high impact and high complexity metallurgical-based or surface treatment processes.
- Clearly define and document project requirements, project schedules, resource and cost estimates, plans, and targets.
- Create an atmosphere in which timely and high quality information flows smoothly between oneself and others; encourage the open expression of ideas and opinions.
- Communicate technical concepts and information in non-technical, more easily understandable terms while conveying information clearly and effectively through both formal and informal documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Metallurgical engineering or related field
- Approximately 3-5 years of related experience
- Advanced computer skills in MS Word, Excel and database software
- Prior processing experience working within precious metals
