Minimum 4 years experience in managing location operations or related professional area.
Excellent computer skills including Google Business Suite and project management software.
Passion for fitness industry, and for helping youth develop athletically
Compensation
Commensurate with experience and starting at $52,000/year with a bonus based on membership levels.
Summary
Lead the team of employees, contractors, coaches etc, perform training center management duties, and create a positive and encouraging environment in order to ensure that members receive the highest quality of service and best in class facilities.
Responsibilities
Manage the Training Centers Operations
- Demonstrate knowledge of job-relevant issues, services, systems, and processes.
- Identify, delegate, execute and supervise the execution of day-to-day operations of the centers.
- Supervise and manage staff. Assign and monitor projects to appropriate staff to ensure timely and thorough completion of projects
- Understand staff positions well enough to perform duties in staff absences.
- Monitor quality, standards and meet the expectations of the Academy members on a daily basis.
- Schedule and coordinate events, programs, and activities for members.
- Schedule and coordinate the work of others.
- Provides assistance, medical attention, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, members, or parents.
- Resolve member and staff challenges in an expeditious and tactful manner following Academy’s procedure and values.
- Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish the work.
- Support the management of outside approved vendors.
- Establish expense controls in order to optimize the Academy’s financial health.
- Order, manage and maintain in great condition the necessary supplies and equipment for the proper operations of training centers and programs:
- Ensure staff have supplies, equipment, tools, and uniforms necessary to do their jobs, and as approved by the Head of Operations.
- Ensure that members programs have adequate equipment and supplies etc. as approved by the Head of Operations.
- Manage the training areas, turf, showers, kitchens, bathrooms, offices, classrooms etc, including overall maintenance, daily upkeep and cleanliness, and the proper operation of all services.
- Promoting and marketing the business
- Ensure the centers meet or exceed the Academy’s standards for cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and security at all times.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation at all times.
- Communicate effectively by holding regular and individual meetings with all key Academy personnel
- Illustrate an ability to drive profit center revenue such as personal training, retail, etc. without negatively impacting the core focus of youth athletic development and elite rugby.
- Support company programs and promotion to help generate new sales leads for optimum new membership growth
Providing and Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service
- Ensure all employees, vendors, customers, parents, contractors etc abide by the Code of Conduct, including behavior, discipline and respect for facilities and the Academy rules while on premises and while engaged in Academy services (i.e. at the field).
- Address inquiries, complaints and emergencies in a professional and timely manner.
- Serve as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors.
- Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere that enhances the quality of service and care offered to members and staff
- Improve service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand customer needs, provides guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed.
Conducting Human Resources Activities
- Identify the developmental needs of others and coaches, mentors, or otherwise helps others to improve their knowledge or skills.
- Provide an inspirational environment that welcomes honest feedback from staff and members
- Participate in the performance review system process, giving feedback when needed.
- Build strong working relationships, demonstrate a high-level of integrity, and establish a proactive approach to management
- Interact in a positive manner including supporting new initiatives with a collaborative approach
- Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
- Recruit and hire the highest possible caliber of staff
- Coordinates training activities for employees and contractors at the training centers, and as approved by the Head of Operations.
- Communicates expectations and performance objectives to staff; staff are also open to raise questions and/or concerns.
