Industrial Smoke and Mirrors (ISM) is a manufacturer of various training simulators including aircraft, weapons, maritime, and ground vehicle simulators, as well as related hardware components. Most of the simulators we build are for our troops, but we do also perform work for the commercial industry. We have an impeccable reputation in the industry and are currently in need of a Quality Control/Quality Assurance Inspector. Many of our jobs are prototypes, so there will be constant changes, challenges, and specific requirements on a project-by-project basis.
Job duties include performing visual and physical inspection of machined parts, electrical parts, welded assemblies, electro-mechanical parts, subassemblies, and assemblies to engineering drawings, parts lists, wiring lists, schematic diagrams, specifications, and/or standards. Additional duties are determining acceptability of manufactured parts and products by using standard mechanical and electronic measuring and test equipment. Inspector will also be responsible for generating inspection related documents and maintaining records in both manual and electronic formats. Additional duties will be assigned as required.
The tests and inspections performed will be moderate to complex, and should be able to be done with moderate supervision so candidates must have the ability to work effectively and efficiently both alone and as part of a team. Candidates must be detail oriented and be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
Candidates must be proficient in the use of basic inspection measuring devices (i.e. micrometers, calipers, height gages, DMM, etc…). Candidates must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, and be highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.) as well as MRP shop data base products.
Five years of hands-on experience in a machining, metal fabrication, welding, finish application, and electromechanical assembly environment is required.
