CONSTRUCTION INSPECTORS - SHA District 7 (Howard, Carroll & Frederick Counties) and Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA)-Facilitywide
MDOT Consultant Construction Inspection Positions (TET I thru TET V) available.
Whitman, Requardt & Associates WRA, a top 120 ENR firm is seeking qualified construction inspectors for districtwide construction contracts in SHA District 7 (Howard, Carroll & Frederick) Counties, Maryland and the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) - Facility-wide. Immediate openings in the Baltimore CMI Division.
Experience Requirements - Experience ranges from entry level for a TET Level I to a minimum of (8) years for a TET Level V. Applicants must have demonstrated construction inspection experience with assorted roadway, bridge, storm drainage, TMDL and building facility contracts involving Maryland MSHA construction standards and specifications as well as experience with SHA and/or MDTA construction inspection contract documentation including preparing Inspector Daily Reports (IDRs), Force Account Records, and reconciling Contractor Monthly Payment Estimates. Candidates must also have all applicable MARTCP certificates (based on contract assignment type), a current SHA Temporary Traffic Control Manager’s Training Course Card (or secure same prior to work assignment) as well as MDE RPC Card and SHA E&S Yellow Card. All assigned personnel must also complete OSHA 10-hour training.
Educational Requirements - Minimum High School Diploma or State Equivalency Certificate.
Other Requirements - Applicant must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and personal vehicle for travel to and from assigned construction sites. This position may also require periodic in-state overnight travel and night work. Other skill-sets required include: good communication skills; the ability to read/interpret plans and specifications; writing and drawing skills necessary to complete inspection reports and sketch books. In addition, basic computer skills (Word & Excel) are desirable as well as experience with using computer laptops or field tablets for preparing electronic IDRs and photographic documentation.
