Description

Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) is currently seeking a Machining Supervisor to join our managerial team. The Supervisor works closely with the Operations, Quality and Engineering teams, seeking to maximize productivity at minimum cost for the department as well as offering support and direction to hourly staff to meet productivity and quality objectives. The position oversees all daily operations, both personnel and production machining, for the CPP machine department.  This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team and be a part of a strong aerospace manufacturing company that has been in business for over 100 years!

Major Responsibilities:

  • Schedules the machine operations to meet customer demand
  • Oversees the efficiency of the shop to drive ESH improvements and waste reductions
  • Develop personnel to ensure technical coverage for machine operation, hand machining, component assembly, casting targeting, CMM inspection, tool grinding & FAI’s
  • Promote tool and machine  efficiencies based on the latest commercially available technological advancements
  • Orchestrate the routine maintenance and calibrations of all CNC & PCMS equipment
  • Support manufacturing WIP flow by communicating adherence to plan and/or shortfalls to plan.  Develop recovery plans as needed through resources and equipment availability
  • Lead any/all new product and revision projects which require machining operations

Key Dimensions

  • Communicates effectively with engineering and supervisory staff, providing input for dimensional integrity
  • Communicates with CPP customer representatives regarding work performed as well as provide input concerning results and corrective action(s)

About You:

  • 5+ years of related machining experience to include a thorough understanding of dimensional inspection methods, procedures and practices of complex metal components and/or castings
  • Associates degree in related field,  Bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • Proficient in MS Office suite of software (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point. etc.)
  • Proficient Power Inspect software with instructions for CMM operators (preferred)
  • Excellent written, verbal & presentation communications skills
  • Strong commitment and focus on safety
