Description

The PC Technician installs, supports and maintains desktops, laptops, mobile devices or other computer systems, planning for and responding to technology service outages and other problems. Technology supported by the PC Technician can be global or line of business specific systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and implements hardware installs and upgrades as necessary.
  • Responds to support requests that come in through different venues - Help Desk (Log-a-ticket), walk-ups, e-mail, phone or the MAC (Moves, Adds, Changes) team.
  • Works with lines of business to determine technology requirements.
  • Acts as point of contact between end users and service vendors (i.e. Printer Service requests, Copier Service requests, etc.).
  • Receives incoming equipment (desktops, laptops, accessories, etc.) and ensures that they are properly input in the asset tracking database.
  • Images new equipment.
  • Participates in projects as required for departmental/company project rollouts (i.e. software, hardware and initiatives).
  • Creates and maintains system documentation for specific areas of responsibility.
  • Participates or leads the resolution of minor to complex issues.
  • Additional responsibilities (lease returns/refreshes, Citrix, printers, orders, etc.) based on level.

Required Experience:

Level I

  • Minimum of 2 years Corporate Information Technology.
  • Understanding of basic business technology and problem solving skills.
  • Training, schooling, certifications relevant to role and level.

Level II

  • Minimum of 3-5 years Corporate Information Technology experience.
  • Understanding of basic business technology and problem solving skills.
  • Training, schooling, certifications relevant to role and level.
  • Strong problem solving abilities.

Level III

  • Minimum of 5 years Corporate Information Technology experience
  • Understanding of infrastructure technology and strong problem solving skills
  • Training, schooling, certifications relevant to role and level.
  • Ability to resolve complex problems.
  • Strong interaction skills across all levels of the organization.
