• Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, information technology, or a related field.

• Proven ability to lead projects from inception to completion, particularly those involving cross-departmental collaboration.

• Experience with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce; bonus if in a higher education setting.

• Knowledge of email marketing and automation best practices and tools.

• Strong writing and content creation skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.

• Analytical skills with experience in data reporting, list generation, campaign reporting, and optimizations.

Special Instructions:

The CRM Specialist-Student Communications is a member of the college's marketing team responsible for leveraging our new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system (TargetX/Salesforce) to effectively communicate with students impacted by key legislative changes, including California Assembly Bills 2683, 1111, 928, and 1705. This role involves partnering with the district IT department for ongoing CRM report configuration, managing targeted communication plans, and providing training to colleagues on CRM communications best practices.

While focused on support communications for these specific transitions in the student experience, this role will also play an integral role in establishing communication systems and protocols that will be leveraged for ongoing collegewide CRM usage.

Key Responsibilities

CRM Configuration & Support:

• Collaborate with the district IT department to support the ongoing configuration and optimization of the college's new CRM system as it pertains to student communications.

• Ensure the CRM is tailored to meet the needs of various student communication initiatives, including data imports, segmentation, automation, and tracking capabilities.

Communications Plan Management:

• Own the development and execution of the communications plan related to key legislative changes (e.g., CA AB 2683, 1111, 928, 1705).

• Manage the timeline, deliverables and outcomes of the communications plan, ensuring timely and effective outreach to targeted student groups.

Student Data & Reporting:

• Become a subject matter expert in generating and analyzing student reports within the CRM.

• Use these reports to create accurate and targeted lists for communications, ensuring that messages reach the appropriate student populations.

Content Creation:

• Write and design compelling emails, text messages and other communications tailored to the needs and preferences of different student segments.

• Ensure all communications are clear, concise and aligned with the college's tone and messaging guidelines.

Campaign Performance Analysis & Optimization:

• Monitor and analyze the performance of all student communication campaigns within the CRM, including open rates, click-through rates, response rates, and overall engagement.

• Use data-driven insights to identify trends and areas for improvement in campaign performance.

• Make recommendations and implement changes to optimize communication strategies, ensuring that outreach efforts are both impactful and efficient.

• Work with stakeholders to continuously refine messaging, targeting and timing to improve outcomes for student engagement and success.

Training & Support:

• Provide training and support to colleagues across departments on how to effectively use the CRM for student communications.

• Develop and deliver training materials, workshops, and one-on-one sessions to empower staff to maximize the CRM's capabilities.
