The College of Fine and Applied Arts (FAA) at the University of Illinois is looking for a Visiting Strategic Planning Analyst to assist in strategic planning, research, and visioning activities for the College.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Perform quantitative and qualitative research on both internal and external information sources, including but not limited to:

  • Internal data on enrollment, student success, research performance, and other performance metrics
  • External data on trends in the arts and higher education
  • External data from and about peer institutions
  • External data from higher education research and assessment organizations (HERD, HEADS, etc.)
  • External data regarding the surrounding community/region

 

Synthesize information from multiple sources into clear, compelling, and effective stakeholder communications.

 

Collaborate on the development of proposals, applications, and other materials for donors, grant submissions, and similar.

 

Collaborate in the management of stakeholder communications around the strategic visioning and planning process, included but not limited to:

  • Development and execution of facilitation plans for meetings
  • Recording and synthesizing notes from meetings
  • Manage communications with stakeholders
  • Manage logistics (venues, catering, etc.) around stakeholder events

 

Coordinate communications around strategic visioning and planning with dean’s leadership team.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Required:        Bachelor’s degree in the arts, architecture, design, planning, higher educations, communications, public policy or related field.

 

Demonstrated experience with strategic planning, enterprise design, change management and/or other modes of institutional change.

 

Preferred:       Master’s degree in arts management, architecture, design, planning or related field.

Experiences with the systems, policies, procedures and institutional structures of higher education in general and/or the University of Illinois system in particular.

Experience with practices for effective and ethical community and stakeholder engagement.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

Required:        Excellent written and personal communication skills.

 

            Preferred:       Knowledge of the Champaign-Urbana community.

Salary and Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Visiting Academic Professional position, appointed for 12 months. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close of the search. The salary range for this position is $80,000.00 to $90,000.00. We strive to provide a competitive salary, considering factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints. The final salary offer will be determined through a thorough assessment of these elements. Work authorization sponsorship is not available for this position.
