The role:
We are looking for a talented journeyman electrician to join our team! As a key member, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects including traffic signals, highway illumination, roadside flashers and building grounds owned by ODOT throughout Region 2. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in working with and supporting fellow electricians to ensure successful project completion. Apply today!

A day in the life:
- Perform roadside electrical work on traffic signals, highway illumination, and highway flashers.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and upgrade traffic signal control systems.
- Assist with maintenance on distribution panels, branch circuits, fixtures and motor controls.
- Work on and below bridges; navigation lights, aviation warning beacons, drawbridge controls and any other related services.
- Use bucket trucks, scissor lifts and ladders to perform electrical work.
- Collaborate and contribute in team decision making while in the field and planning stages of projects.
- Determine best methods to completing task and assignments.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE), tools, materials and the National Electrical Code to ensure work is done in a safe and orderly manner.
- May be required to work in heights in excess of 110 feet, excavations in depths in excess of four feet and over large bodies of water.
- Work outdoors on a year-round basis in all weather conditions, often in close proximity to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Minimum qualifications:
A General Journeyman Electrical license.
Special qualifications:
- This position requires a maximum 45 minute response time to 885 Airport Road SE, Salem, OR 97301 for emergency call-outs.
- Employee will be required to use a commercial motor vehicle to conduct business. You must possess a current, valid commercial driver's license B (CDL-B) with no air brake restrictions OR have the ability to acquire one within one year of hire (ODOT will cover training and costs) to be considered eligible for this position. A valid driver license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Clearinghouse registration and full query check for our final candidate(s) and annual query for current employees.
