JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively support and further the Mission of The Arc, "To empower people with disabilities to believe in their own unique abilities and achieve their full potential by providing quality, innovative services that focus on inclusion, advocacy, independence, employment, meaningful community life, and personal happiness."
- Work by Illinois Administrative Rule 116 and in conjunction with other personnel of The Arc to provide supportive assistance to individuals served by:
- Administering prescribed medication and/or treatments and maintaining necessary documentation following Illinois Administrative Rule 116 and the policies and procedures of The Arc.
- Delivering instruction and/or health care on an individual and/or small group basis to designated individuals and by policies and procedures of The Arc.
- Assessing individuals and maintaining necessary data documentation following prescribed guidelines.
- Participating in individual staffings and IDTs when appropriate.
- Provide supervision and ongoing assistance in the personal and social development of designated individuals served by The Arc.
- As requested, participate in conferences, seminars, meetings, and in-service training sessions.
- Responsible for making recommendations to the supervisor to ensure the health and safety of individuals served by The Arc.
- Attend team meetings and training sessions when advised.
- To perform all tasks and duties as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- LPN with graduation from an accredited nursing school.
- LPN licensed in the State of Illinois, current and in good standing.
- Valid driver's license in good standing and vehicle with appropriate auto insurance required. Must be approved by the Agency's Auto insurance carrier for driving agency vehicles.
- Demonstrated strength and flexibility to assist in lifting individuals or provide other individual-related care.
- Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Flexibility of schedule to meet program needs.
