Responsible for inspection of incoming products and internally manufactured products.  Must demonstrate proficiency setting up and operating CMM, MicroVu (multisensor), hand tools, and plate for part inspection.  Assist on the shop floor with first piece buy-off, in-process inspection, final inspection, and incoming inspection.


Essential Functions:

  • Working knowledge of GD&T; when and how to use inspection equipment such as micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges, pin gauges, gauge blocks and plate inspection.
  • Assists in creating and updating of inspection procedures, protocols and checklists.
  • Demonstrates ability to setup and measure product using CMM, vision, plate and other hand tools.
  • Coordinates calibration of test equipment and fixtures.
  • Implement and maintain quality requirements and standards (ISO 9001:2015) for the development and manufacture of products.
  • Maintain all quality records and documentation for manufacturing facility in accordance with the quality manual and customer specific requirements.
  • Performs required inspections in accordance with drawing, specifications, standard work and planning requirements.
  • Perform visual, in-process and final dimensional inspections using standard measurement instruments on tightly tolerance materials, components and subassemblies in the production areas.
  • Visual inspection and basic dimensional measurements of incoming materials.
  • Documentation of non-conformances on materials, parts or processes.
  • Reviews supplier paperwork, verifying material pass/fail criteria against engineering inspection requirements.
  • Perform detailed inspections on both Electrical and Mechanical components at the piece part level and sub-assembly level.
  • Must be able to operate ERP, have computer knowledge and the ability to learn new programs
  • Complies with department ISO 9001 Quality Procedures and Policies
  • Maintains inspection records and inspection reports
  • Participate in internal quality audits
  • Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports.
  • Interface with supplier quality representatives concerning problems with quality assurance and assure that effective corrective action is implemented
  • Serve as primary quality assurance for all manufacturing issues pertaining to the quality of the product from incoming inspection to final inspection of products.
  • Manage and log time worked daily by project/job code, as required.
  • Work towards our goals of 100% On-Time Delivery and 100% Quality.
  • Communicates with co-workers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate general work activities.
  • Clean-up of work area, and other areas of the facility as asked adhering to 5S principles.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to better a department or company.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma AND 2 to 4-years inspecting parts in a manufacturing environment
  • Moderate knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, AS9100, or ISO 13485
  • Knowledge of Epicor (ERP), preferred
  • Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
  • History of progressive responsibility a plus

Physical Demands: 

  • Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor frequently, and/or
  • Exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
  • Exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or
  • Exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects, and/or
  • Work with hand and machine tools as well as small parts requires visual acuity and hand/eye coordination, and/or
  • Exposure to loud manufacturing equipment sounds and smells.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Full time position consisting of 40+ hours per week. Normal hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm; shift work Monday through Friday 7:00am through 3:30pm. This position may require overtime and/or weekend work due to production, rework or customer deadlines. Subject to change shift start and end times.
