Buyer-Planner
Overview
Technology moves fast. We are looking for a Buyer-Planner to join our team who will purchase materials, plan services to support manufacturing, help us improve vendor relationships, and manage inventory; with the goal in mind of our R&D and manufacturing departments becoming more efficient and cost-effective.
What You'll Do Every Day
You will purchase materials including capital purchases, maintenance materials, facility materials and materials used directly in manufacturing. You will also assist with the selection of vendors and then manage those relationships to ensure on-time delivery at competitive pricing while managing inventory levels to prevent shortages. You will work with internal partners to maintain the production and research schedules. You will be responsible for multiple tasks in the following areas: responsibilities with Planning & Scheduling, Supply Chain Management, Order Fulfillment, and Shipping & Receiving.
Our Buyer-Planner will work very closely with Research & Development, Production, Quality, Marketing, and Accounting. You will work collaboratively with others to strategize, set goals, and work toward the achievement of Company objectives.

Skills You Must Bring
You have at least 3 years of recent and relevant experience with buying/planning/ shipping and receiving. Ideally, you possess a bachelor's degree in a business or related field, and you have worked in a manufacturing environment.
You have a strong proficiency in MS Office, you are confident and accurate while working with data, and if you have used an ERP system that is a plus (extra bonus points for Epicor!). You understand production, inventory, and commercial shipping procedures - with some experience with international shipping. Hazardous material experience is also a plus! In addition to this experience, you must have an extremely high level of attention to detail, excellent problem solving and decision-making skills, the ability to communicate proficiently, and change gears often.
If you speak German, that is a plus - but we need you to be able to speak and write fluently in English. If you have a general understanding of OLEDs and organic/inorganic materials that is also a huge benefit to us!
This position is mainly on-site in Rochester and offers the flexibility to work remotely on an occasional basis. We will need someone who can stand 25-50% of the time, walk, reach, bend, and lift/move boxes and materials up to 25 lbs. Occasionally we will need something heavier moved/lifted using assistance. The ability to use tools and machines occasionally may be needed.
Travel will not be regularly part of this position, but the ability to visit other sites may be required. We have a hard working and fun team here, consider joining our team today!
