Passero Associates' Dayton, OH office has an excellent opportunity for an Airport Civil Engineer I to support development of airfield and municipal project plans, including grading & drainage design, pavement design, utilities, storm water design, quantities, specifications & contract documents for airport and municipal projects. The selected individual will perform all aspects of project delivery, from concept to construction closeout, including client interaction, while applying the latest technologies and software advancements. This position also involves active resident engineering assignments during the construction phase of projects.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with different disciplines (engineers, construction field personnel, planners, and architects) to understand how each discipline helps progress a project.
• Design airfield projects using AutoCAD.
• Write technical documentation (specifications and engineer’s reports) in MS Word.
• Research Federal Aviation Administration design guidance
• Prepare engineer’s estimates
• Attend project meetings, field visits with airport engineer, as needed
• Assist construction field personnel with site visits and reporting

Qualifications/ Experience:

• AAS or BS degree in Civil Engineering / Civil-related field
• 0-3+ years related experience
• Course work in civil/infrastructure design, transportation engineering, water resources, pavement engineering, construction management, and related topics
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD
• Strong communication skills
• EIT / PE preferred
• Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle
