Description
The Lab for Applied Science (LAS) Research Program Coordinator is responsible for the administrative and financial management of the office for the PI's research activities and operations primarily supporting the SERVIR and IMPACT projects. Support will include: assisting the PIs; personnel support; financial, purchasing, and proposal operations; and working closely with the Senior Research Program Coordinator in the management and operations of the office. The employee will make independent judgments in accordance with rules, policies, procedures, and guidelines, and be responsible for performing a variety of coordination-discrepancy resolution assignments that do not follow a prescribed routine.
Duties/Responsibilities
• Manage and evaluate budgets, and assigned accounts which includes the budget management, allocation, and program coordination for contracts and grants.
• Manage and coordinate various account systems. Manage financial transactions by ensuring submission of proper charge codes are used; confirming availability of funds in proper account sub codes, and verifying authorization to commit funds from PIs.
• Manage financial transactions by ensuring proper charge codes are used; confirming availability of funds in proper account sub codes, and verifying authorization to commit funds from PIs. Contribute to LAS purchasing database to track requisitions, POs and PCard purchases.
• Manage LAS purchasing database, spreadsheets to monitor, to track and maintain projections, expenditures, requisitions, POs and PCard purchases.
• Work in collaboration with OSP and Business Services regarding consulting sub contract requests for PIs, coordination with budget request.
• Provide administrative support programmatic operations and activities in accordance with policies, and procedures, laws and university guidelines.
• Provide supervision, guidance and direction to student employees, and volunteer workers.
• Assist Senior Research Program Coordinator with the hiring process, an onboarding.
• Provide administrative support in a variety of areas, including purchasing, lab personnel coordination, LAS and PI research.
• Oversee the office and manage communications.
• Manage and maintain PI calendars, notifying personnel of upcoming events and announcements, and accepting deliveries.
• Maintain digital and paper records by filing and organizing administrative and financial documents.
• Manage and assist in the supervision and coordination of workshops and special events, as needed.
• Manage travel processes in collaboration with NASA and other LAS and UAH staff, including but not limited to: airfare purchases; conference registrations; travel authorization assistance and approvals; and expense reimbursement vouchers.
• Manage and assist with periodic and ad hoc reporting, as required for LAS
• Manage and maintain website
• Manage and supervise special events with internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform annual space survey of LAS portions of Cramer Research Hall.

Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's degree with 3 to 5 years of full-time verifiable administrative work experience, or anequivalent combination of education and years of experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
• Ability to multi-task, and deal with evolving and pressing deadlines in a fast-paced complex environment.
• Experience in accounting, budgeting, or financial data application
• Experience working with teams, in budget and - or contract administration paperwork management, requiring a high degree of attention to detail and organization.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary: $45,000-$50,000
