Description
The University of Dallas Chemistry Department invites applications for a one-year visiting faculty position (either Affiliate Instructor or Affiliate Assistant Professor). Qualified candidates should have a PhD in chemistry or biochemistry. ABD candidates or those with a PharmD/MD or an MS with experience in industry or teaching will also be considered. Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities will include teaching at the undergraduate level in organic chemistry lecture as well as organic laboratory in addition to other courses as needed. The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong potential for supportive and effective teaching methods. A typical course load is two lectures and two labs per semester.
The start date is August 20, 2025
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach Organic I and II lecture and lab courses.
- Participate in professional, departmental, and university service activities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT
- Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry or ABD candidates or those with a PharmD/MD or an MS with experience in industry or teaching.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD in Organic Chemistry.
- Prior teaching experience.
