The Assistant Director, Office of Engagement (OE) is responsible for developing external partnerships that support community engagement efforts with UNO. This role specializes in outreach, communication, and collaboration with community partners that include nonprofit organizations, business, governmental organizations, P-12 schools, resident groups, and others to further the OE’s goals to support engaged teaching, research, and service . The Assistant Director works throughout Omaha & across the UNO campus to develop partnerships that promote these efforts in and outside of the classroom. This role has oversight of student engagement and training programs, P-12 school outreach, student training and outreach, student awards and recognition, and identifies and promotes student pipeline programs between partners and UNO.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, nonprofit administration, educational administration, organizational psychology, social work, communications, or related field required.
- Minimum of three years demonstrated experience working with diverse populations in collaborative relationships in nonprofit, business, governmental agency, higher education, or P-12 environments.
- Experience working with P-12 schools and/or students in an educational capacity.
- Minimum two years experience leading teams toward goals and assessing outcomes.
- Will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.
