Job Description
RVK is seeking a talented investment professional to join our consulting team as an Associate or Senior Associate to operate out of our Chicago location. There is an in-office preference for this role but is eligible for a hybrid working arrangement of at least three (3) days per week in office, as needed. Candidates will be selected based on experience and qualifications. These positions offer a unique opportunity for individuals with strong analytical, communication, and project management skills to contribute meaningfully to our client services.
Associates and Senior Associates work closely with our consulting teams to conduct research, perform portfolio analysis, and provide investment advice to clients. These positions require a blend of qualitative and quantitative capabilities, good business sense, working investment acumen, and strong client service skills. The level of responsibility and complexity of assignments will be determined based on experience and demonstrated expertise.
Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be actively involved in all aspects of client service and investment consulting, including but not limited to:
- Conducting asset allocation studies, investment policy revisions, portfolio rebalancing, and investment manager analysis.
- Providing day-to-day client service, supporting consulting teams with research and investment recommendations.
- Preparing client materials, including investment reports, education presentations, and special research projects.
- Developing and maintaining knowledge of recommended investment management firms, products, and strategies.
- Writing, editing, and proofreading client communications and training materials.
- Assisting in defining key messages and presenting ideas, recommendations, and findings to clients.
- Participating in internal research projects and special assignments.
- Reviewing and approving performance measurement deliverables for clients.
- For Senior Associates, additional responsibilities may include training junior staff, attending client meetings, leading presentations, and contributing to business development efforts.

Minimum Qualifications

- Knowledge of software and business applications - proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong work ethic - Ability to work Monday–Friday with client deadlines that may require longer hours/week, (including when necessary, evening and weekend time).
- Minimal travel required; Senior Associates may have additional travel expectations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Well-versed in quantitative analytical techniques - ability to build quantitative models and interpret results.
- Demonstrated knowledge of investment consulting principles, investment strategies, policies and industry regulations.
- Knowledge of investment tools such as MPI Stylus, Morningstar, Bloomberg, and eVestment Alliance.
Required Education and Work Experience
- Associate Level: Minimum of three (3) years of relevant industry experience in investment consulting, asset management, banking, or related fields. A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, business, or a related discipline is required. Progress towards the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and/or a master's degree in finance, Economics, or Business Administration is strongly encouraged.
- Senior Associate Level: Minimum of five (5) years of relevant industry experience. A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, business, or a related discipline is required. Completion of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or progress towards the CFA and/or a master's degree in finance, Economics, or Business Administration is strongly encouraged.
Compensation and Benefits
- Associate Salary Range: $70,000 - $95,000 annually.
- Senior Associate Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 annually.
- RVK offers compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- Positions are eligible for a discretionary performance-based bonus if held by an active employee on the date bonuses are payable.
