Job Title: Bid Manager
Location: Salem or Portland, Oregon
The opportunity
The Bid Manager is primarily responsible for the bidding process from initial RFP/contact through contract signing by overseeing the initiation and coordination of proposal technical development process and manage proposal related tasks.
You will make an impact by….
- Provides standard technical product application assistance as required.
- Participates in review of sales proposals for products and service opportunities to determine proposal feasibility.
- Replies to sales inquiries and proposal approval requests in a timely manner. Reviews and analyze proposal requirements, ensure overall quality, and ensure 100% compliance with the Request for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFP) and other proposal requirements.
- Maintains current knowledge of market conditions and competitors and activities critical to the bidding process.
- Works proactively with Regional Sales Manager to ensure that cost estimates support the requirements, schedules, and contract terms and conditions.
- Supports the preparation of offers, bids, contracts and other sales-related documents required by customers for ADB products/services/solutions.
- Advises in review of sales proposals for products and service opportunities to determine proposal feasibility.
- Analyzes geographic territory, customer requirements, and competitive activity to develop sales offers and bids designed to achieve sales goals.
- Provide comments and recommended adjustments to terms and conditions in a timely manner.
- Contacts customers/business partners for technical clarifications, active role for technical support to (end) customers before and during the sales acquisition phase
- Writes airfield lighting related standards and methods
- Contacts airfield third party suppliers and installation contractors, prepares RFQs for these, evaluates offers and selects the right one for each occasion.
The talent we want to inspire has..
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field strongly preferred
- 2-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Background must include exposure to a variety of technical documentation.
- Familiar with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) airport policies, procedures and products a plus.
- Familiar with the RFP process and required documentation.
- Must be able to multi-task and work on variety of proposals simultaneously
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical information such as blue prints/plan sets and legal documents (contracts).
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
- Must be able to travel to customer locations or tradeshows- travel requirement is approximately 10% and may include overnight stays.
