We are looking for Bridge Design Engineers to join our team in our Baltimore, MD office. In this role, the engineer will work on a multi-disciplinary team developing bridge and structural plans as well as NBIS Bridge Inspection for transportation projects for Maryland State Highway Administration, MDOT MTA, MDTA and other local agencies such as the City of Baltimore DOT and other State DOT agencies, and/or municipal localities.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Responsibilities will include preparing designs and contract documents for the repair or replacement of various types of bridge structures and providing support during construction such as reviewing shop drawings. Work will also include performing field inspections of highway bridges, documenting defects, preparing reports, and completing computations to calculate the load ratings of various bridge types.

Requirements :

  • B.S.C.E with a minimum of 10-15 years of bridge design experience in Maryland; M.S.C.E a plus
  • Licensed as a Maryland Registered Professional Engineer
  • Experience designing bridge projects and preparing contract documents with strong knowledge of MDOT SHA policies and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of AASHTO Bridge LRFD Specifications
  • Experience with a variety of bridge design software
  • Hands-on experience with MicroStation/GEOPAK/Open Bridge software
  • Experience with MDOT and MDTA bridge safety inspections a plus
  • Completion of NHI-130055 (Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges) a plus
  • FHWA-NHI Fracture Critical Inspection Training a plus
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to travel in-state and out-of-state on limited as needed basis
  • Exceptional communication and organization skills
