NEW HIGHER PAY: $34,936 - $61,137
The Challenge
We're looking for an entry-level Engineering Technician to join our Guilford County Resident Engineering team.
 
In this role, you will:
    • Provide engineering support to senior Technicians and Engineers.
    • Perform construction inspections, surveys, materials sampling, testing, and construction traffic control.
    • Conduct standardized and non-standardized tests.
    • Compile, analyze, compute, edit, and process field data.
What You Bring
    • Excellence in record keeping.
    • Experience conducting compliance inspections with contract agreements, standards/codes, and specifications.
    • Experience in maintaining standard daily records and reports.
    • Knowledge of standards and specifications and plan reading experience.
    • Computer skills using a laptop, iPad, and software.
    • Experience performing inspections, sampling, and materials testing (concrete, & asphalt density) to ensure compliance with NCDOT specifications.
    • General knowledge of surveying and methods, equipment, and materials used in highway construction.
    • General knowledge of math functions, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
    • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, contact provisions, specifications and inspection procedures.
    • Ability to take notes and effective communication skills.
    • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
    • Safety toe shoes.  
Education & Experience
    • Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or a related curriculum; or
    • An equivalent combination of training and experience.
