We are seeking a highly-motivated Environmental Scientist to join our growing team in our Richmond, VA office.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species surveys, preparing NEPA documentation, Section 404/401 permitting, permit compliance monitoring, invasive species surveys and management, stream assessments, preparation of technical documents, and any other services as required by specific projects. Periodic travel (including overnight) will be required to conduct field work and/or attend project meetings, as needed.  Successful candidates will be highly-motivated self-starters with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Environmental Science, or related field
  • 0-4 years of experience in a related field
  • Willingness to work outdoors in sometimes harsh conditions
  • Willingness to conduct field work that may require periodic overnight travel
  • Experience conducting wetland delineations
  • Experience obtaining Section 404/401 permits preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines under limited supervision
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
  • Positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong plant identification skills preferred
  • Desire to learn and grow technically and professionally within the company
  • GIS experience preferred
