Description
Emergency Vehicle Technician Inspector, Fort Bliss TX
Technica LLC seeks to recruit for the position of Emergency Vehicle Technician Inspector on a Government
contract with a place of performance at Fort Bliss, TX.
Position Responsibilities:
• Must have and maintain the appropriate Automotive Service Excellence (A.S.E.), Emergency Vehicle
Technician (EVT), and Airport Rescue and Fire-Fighting Technician (ARFF) Certifications for fire
apparatus technician.
• Performs scheduled services and repairs to include initial, in progress and final inspections on specialized
emergency vehicles such as fire trucks and firefighting apparatuses IAW applicable regulations, NFPA,
TMs, or service manuals.
• Identify and or verify shortcomings and deficiencies on equipment for Emergency Vehicle Technicians to
repair and validate such repairs.
• Performs estimated cost of damages/repairs (ECOD/ECOR); generate necessary documents for these
estimates.
• Inspect components for serviceability; responsible for diagnosing faults and malfunctions that are
identified as unserviceable or incorrect from normal operational conditions; identify and orders required
repair parts or items needed for scheduled services.
• Assist Emergency Vehicle Technicians with troubleshooting emergency vehicles.
• Inspect specialized equipment on the vehicles, such as hoses and fire extinguishers, and maintain
documentation of their repair action in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
• Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be
solved solely by referencing manufacturers manuals or similar documents.
• Utilizes hand tools, diagnostic tools, complex computers systems for advanced diagnostics.
• Utilizes automated maintenance management systems to provide maintenance information to customers
• Operates materiel handling equipment (MHE) as required.
• Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned to include maintenance and repairs on
nonfirefighting vehicles and equipment.
Preferred Requirements:
• Certified Master EVT or Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician with applicable EVT certifications.
Mandatory Requirements:
• Must possess a current Level I EVT (Apparatus) Certification.
• Must possess a current Level I EVT (ARFF) Certification.
• Must have at the time of offer, documentations indicating proof of certifications for the following EVT
exams: Inspection, Maintenance & Testing of Fire Apparatus (F1) and Design & Performance of Fire
Apparatus (F2), and Design and Performance of ARFF Vehicles (A1).
• Must have at the time of offer, documentations indicating proof of certifications for the following ASE
certifications: Heavy-Duty Truck, Diesel Engine (T2), Truck Brakes (T4), Truck, Suspension and
Steering (T5), and Heavy-Duty Truck, Electrical/Electronic Systems (T6).
• Required to keep all EVT and ASE certifications current throughout employment. Expired certifications
result in termination of the EVT Level pay rate.
• Must be knowledgeable in the legal operation of fire apparatus; requirements of NFPA1911, federal and
state regulations; and record-keeping requirements.
• Must have intimate knowledge of all fire apparatus and how the various systems operate.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to lift on an occasional basis a maximum of 50 pounds or more using a two-person lift,
with frequent or constant lifting of 49 pounds or less individually.
• Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions to include intense heat, heavy wind, blowing
sand, heavy rain, sleet and snow.
• Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Able to climb in and out of firefighting vehicles and/or other related equipment.
• Capable of climbing and working on equipment at 10 feet above ground limit.
• Capable of using and understanding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Must be a US Citizen or US permanent resident for more than 3 years in order to obtain NACI
