Description
Whitman, Requardt & Associates is seeking an Entry Level Highway Engineer to join our Jacksonville, FL office. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of engineers and will be responsible for the planning and design of transportation-related projects. This role involves supporting Senior Project Engineers in various tasks within the field of highway design.
Responsibilities:
- Develop roadway horizontal and vertical alignments.
- Conduct roadside evaluation and design.
- Design maintenance of traffic plans
- Prepare construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Develop technical reports.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- 0-4 years of relevant experience.
- Relevant internship or job experience related to transportation engineering preferred.
- Effective oral and written communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Capability to handle multiple assignments.
- Experience with design software tools such as MicroStation, Geopak, OpenRoads, InRoads, and AutoCAD preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
