Do you want to use your skills to make a difference? We are recruiting for four positions to join our hardworking Region 2 striping crew as highway maintenance specialist. In this role you will work on various striping projects throughout Region 2 to help keep Oregon’s roads and travelers safe! Apply today!

A day in the life:
- Perform manual labor and operate heavy and light equipment.
- Use all types of hand tools.
- Apply, maintain and replace roadway/highway striping and road markings.
- Remove existing paint using sand blasting or grinding equipment.
- Operate and maintain striping equipment and vehicles.
- Work closely with hazardous materials such as epoxy, paints, thermoplastics, thinners, and acetones.
- Collaborate with contractors to help determine layout of road markings and striping.
- Work in and around heavy construction equipment and stay in compliance with safety policy.
- Must be able to move around rough terrain, on uneven slopes and may need to lift up to 60 pounds.
- May be required to be available for emergency calls 24 hours/day, 7 days a week, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- May need to travel throughout the region for various stripping projects.

Minimum qualifications:
One year of experience performing basic highway maintenance work;
OR
Two years of general landscaping, maintenance, mechanical, farming, logging, and/or construction experience or training.
Special qualifications:
- This position requires a maximum 45 minute response time to 2775 25th Street SE, Salem, OR 97302 for emergency call-outs.
- Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.

- A current, valid commercial driver’s license A (CDL-A) with tanker endorsement or a CDL permit is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in striping or highway maintenance.
- Demonstrated experience using a computer to access emails and input data.
- Demonstrated experience using hand tools and operating light and heavy equipment such as tractors, excavators, loaders or dump trucks.
- Demonstrated experience in reviewing, reading and interpreting striping plans.
