Position Overview:
Senior integration engineer that will lead a dedicated team for hardware software integration (HSI) with virtual training devices, product launches and deployments. Requires a full stack understanding of the workings of the product and production line and understanding of interfacing with virtual training devices. Acts as the critical link between the development teams and the test team. Ensures that products are deployed consistently and with a high level of quality. Needs both technical skills and small team leadership experience.
Essential Job Functions: Leads a team of integration, software, systems, cyber, and/or test engineers towards the development of a singular product. Creates instructions and guides for repeatable deployments. Works with the test team to ensure that the product is ready for test; works with the DevSecOps team to ensure that the product contains all necessary components. Works with the virtual training hardware provider to track hardware APIs, device driver, and hardware provider software content deliveries for integration with the training system software.
Develops and applies advanced methods, theories and research techniques in investigation and solution of complex and difficult system design requirements and problems. Plans, conducts and technically directs projects or major phases of significant projects, coordinating the efforts of engineers and technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects. Conducts investigations of considerable complexity. Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects. Reviews completion and implementation of systems additions and/or enhancements and recommends corrections in technical application and analysis to management. Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. Provides technical consultation to other organizations.
Required Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
- 15 or more years applicable progressively complex systems design engineering experience, including integration of complex hardware/software systems.
- Flexibility and a willingness to change directions to meet organizational needs
- Experience with constructive, virtual, and/or gaming systems
Special Requirements/Security Clearance:
In accordance with the specifications of a government contract, eligibility for this position mandates U.S. Citizenship status and a SECRET security clearance. The precise security clearance requisites will be detailed in the Government's Task Order.
