I.  Job Summary

Properly disposes of solid waste materials at landfill site.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

  • Picking paper (year-round)
  • Install and remove fencing- temporary and permanent.
  • Maintain road watering schedule.
  • Washing equipment and maintaining wash schedule
  • Assist mechanics with equipment maintenance.
  • Perform basic maintenance procedures on heavy equipment and support vehicles, including greasing, washing, cleaning cabs, cleaning tracks, etc.
  • Become trained to effectively operate heavy equipment and support equipment for various landfill activities.
    • Equipment included (but not limited to)
      • Water Truck (Articulated and Non-Articulated)
      • Wheel Loader
      • Lawnmowers
      • Tractor
      • UTV
      • Pickup Trucks
  • Parts running
  • Grounds care- mowing, weed whacking, weed spraying, etc.…
  • Snow removal (plowing and manually shoveling around building and scale, salting walking areas, and parking areas by hand and with vehicle mounted spreader)
  • Scale maintenance- snow removal in winter, pressure wash at least twice annually.
  • Assist with completion of site stormwater inspections.
  • Complete site housekeeping and AST inspections
  • Maintenance shop upkeep and general building maintenance including janitorial work.
  • Maintain parts inventory and organization.
  • Assist well technician.
  • Other duties as assigned.
