Description
Overview
The Maintenance Technician III installs, maintains, and repairs production and manufacturing equipment. Inspects equipment for proper functioning and performs preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer's specifications.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training in manufacturing equipment maintenance and repair; or equivalent combination of continued education and experience.
- Moderate knowledge of and/or experience with PLC.
Other Functions:
- Must have proven experience and ability to display expertise in one or more of the following:
- Proficient experience with compressors/ammonia systems (e.g., refrigeration systems).
- Proficient experience with PLC (e.g., industrial maintenance, computer control systems, etc.).
- Proficient experience with basic electrical systems (e.g., starters, fuses, contacts, relays).
- Proficient experience with conveyors (air cylinders, diverters, sensors, motor/speed controls).
- Proficient experience with electrical systems (installation, frequency drive, troubleshooting)
- Proficient experience with electronics (e.g., level probes, flow meters, drives/VFDs, etc.).
- Proficient experience with gearing and gear boxes (rebuilds, ordering parts, machining parts).
- Proficient experience with hydraulic systems (high pressure cylinders, pumps, valves, troubleshooting).
- Proficient experience with kinematics (e.g., line speed/sprocket size ratios, etc.).
- Review rating instructions.
- Proficient experience with packaging/high speed production (e.g., bottling, consumer products, etc.).
- Proficient experience with pneumatics (solenoids, cylinders, motor brakes, reading, troubleshooting).
- Proficient experience with pneumatics/air compression (e.g., valves, cylinders, etc.).
- Proficient experience with preventative maintenance (computerized preventative charts/data).
- Proficient experience with pumps (e.g., troubleshooting, replacing seals/motors, understanding specs).
- Ability to read, write, perform basic mathematical calculations, and accurately record data required.
- Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, as required.
- Must be able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, reach, climb, pull, and bend with full range of body motion.
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
- Must be able to work independently and/or on a team in a fast paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills and systematic approach to troubleshooting and problem solving is required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- PLC, HVAC, Ammonia, Refrigeration, or other specialty certifications required
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work in hot and cold climates, both indoors and outdoors.
Responsibilities
- Perform Proficient preventative maintenance inspection and service on all production and manufacturing equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company guidelines.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment to the desired company performance standards.
- Interface, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electronic computerized systems and equipment
- Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
- Comply with all company work and safety rules and regulatory compliance rules and regulations.
- Use all personal protective equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Possess the necessary personal tools to perform duties.
