JOB SUMMARY:
The Membership Outreach Coordinator is a member of the Development department and should be energetic, outgoing, organized, with an eye for detail, planning and analysis, and collaborate well with their colleagues. This individual must be a self-starter with exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills. The Membership Outreach Coordinator is expected to accurately input and reconcile records for all transactions in the station’s donor database, coordinate and attend outreach and tabling events with the intent of member acquisition and community outreach, assist with the planning and execution of on-air and in-person fundraising drives, and work closely with members of the Development department to execute projects to further the success of the station. The Membership Outreach Coordinator reports to the Director of Membership.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintains and updates the donor database daily. Primary individual responsible for data entry in the database.
- Assists with planning and execution of Membership, Mid-Level, and Major Donor events.
- Actively seeks out and coordinates PBS Reno attendance at community events.
- Attends PBS Reno and community events as a representative of our station, including weekend or evening events.
- Records and reports on events on a weekly basis, including attendance, demographics, outreach numbers, member acquisition, intent of event.
- Assists in the planning and execution of quarterly on-air fundraising drives.
- Works with Director of Membership to compile reports and ratings for pledge broadcasts.
- Assists with member services and thoughtfully resolves problems with member accounts.
- Works with the administrative department to reconcile database and bank deposits daily.
- Produce revenue reports weekly.
- Updates major donor reports quarterly.
- Handles confidential information with discretion and precision.
- Utilizes project management software, creating and organizing new projects as needed.
- Assists with all development activities as assigned by Director of Membership and Vice President of Development.
Education and Experience:
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including outstanding customer service support to departments, supervisors, and community leaders.
- Comprehensive computer skills, including all Microsoft Office products and web navigation, and knowledge of office equipment.
- Self-directed with the ability to work with minimal supervision and proactively meet deadlines.
- Must be detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to implement systems and follow up processes.
- Administrative support experience a plus.
- Excellent written communication, proofreading and editing skills.
- Both verbal and phone communications skills are required
- Comprehensive knowledge of research, and ability to distinguish and identify community engagement opportunities.
- College degree or equivalent.
- Experience in non-profit fundraising is strongly preferred.
