Job Summary

Oversees video productions, projects, and operations within the FIU Online Content Creation team. The Multimedia Producer play a vital role in conceptualizing, designing, planning, and producing captivating media content for FIU Online faculty, staff, and external clients. Additionally, they are responsible for the maintenance and management of equipment and studios, as well as serving as a knowledgeable resource on the latest trends, technological advancements, research, applications, and multimedia-related products.

  • Assists the content creation team in conceptualizing, designing, planning, and producing media for faculty, staff, and clients. Determines format, approach, content, logistics, and medium to effectively meet the client needs while remaining within budget.
  • Produces graphics, motion graphics, and camera-ready artwork needed to complete multimedia projects; including presentations, promotional material, direct mail pieces, trade show booth graphics, print and web-based advertising.
  • Translates creative briefs into pre-production plans, executes production and post-production work.
  • Assists instructional designers in enhancing course content through multimedia design principles, video services, motion graphics, and promoting best practices.
  • Assists to develop, create, and edit digital photography
  • Performs different roles in a production crew, and assists with all aspects of production including, but not limited to scheduling, storyboarding, location scouting, casting, lighting, filming, editing, gathering props, securing talent, script breakdowns, etc..
  • Instructs staff, faculty, and clients on multimedia services, capabilities, and best practices to get the most of each production, as well as provides guidance and artistic direction to talent, or on-screen presenters.
  • Develops projects with new and innovative multimedia practices, equipment, and software.
  • Maintains the multimedia database and library of projects, footage, and other multimedia files.
  • Assists in monitoring inventory of required supplies and equipment; recommends purchases of new equipment and supplies. Assists in maintenance on studios and equipment

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and two (2) years of experience in related field; OR six (6) years of experience in related field; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

Departmental Requirements

  • Experience in videography, photography, audio recording, and/or editing of all categories.
  • Must submit a link to a portfolio and/or reel.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with creative and artistic vision, including the ability to conceptualize and execute compelling multimedia content.
  • Experience with Adobe Premier Pro and Software knowledge of After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Audition, Camtasia, Mediasite, OBS, Tricaster.
  • Knowledge of film & television lighting techniques, and principles, chroma key technology, and photogrammetry.
  • Experience operating production studios, using audio, visual, and film production equipment.
