We take our role seriously and as part of the Energy, Resilience and Sustainability (ERS) Division, you will collaborate with experts to provide comprehensive policy, planning, and implementation services to deliver solutions that address critical occupational safety and health issues and support the military mission.

 

The ERS Division is seeking a qualified and proactive candidate to work collaboratively with senior Air Force clients on occupational safety and health issues. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on a small, client-facing team and will be able to apply robust data analytics to identify and implement solutions in a deadline-driven environment. Everyday duties will include managing multiple client projects centered on policy development and annual safety budget reporting requirements. As an Occupational Safety Analyst, you will be a problem solver, working closely with clients to develop and utilize data driven approaches to find the best solutions to implement federal policies. This is a hybrid position located in the Washington, D.C area, with the flexibility to work from home while participating in in-person client and team discussions at or near CTC's Crystal City office. Recurring in-office work may be required at the Pentagon (e.g., every Monday) at client direction.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to inquiries and tasking related to occupational safety from DoD and Air Force senior leadership, Congress, OSHA, and other stakeholders.
  • Analyze safety and health programmatic and financial data to identify trends that can be used to manage the Safety program element and reduce mishaps and mitigate risks.
  • Manage safety program element analyses and reporting platforms to address Air Force, DoD, Congressional and other requests for information.
  • Use a firm command of language and presentation techniques to relate your findings (statistical or otherwise) in both technical and layman's terms to enable the client to act.
  • Support compilation of SOH and mishap information and data, draft briefings and papers, and other documents as requested on SOH topics for senior Air Force leaders.
  • Identify innovative policies and technological solutions with direct benefit and contribution to the Department’s occupational safety goals.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders, including Department of the Air Force Safety Center, Installations Support Panel, Planning Department, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (OSD) Cost Assessment & Program Evaluation (CAPE) and other stakeholders, to implement best and emerging practices for safety information integration, reconciliation, and processing across all phases and areas.
  • Build strong client relationships and help grow CTC's ERS division.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Five (5) years' experience in operational and occupational safety and health program management.
  • Excellent communications, organization, and presentation skills.
  • Strong computer literacy and data analysis capabilities.
  • Proven ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical professionals.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining working relationships with multi-disciplinary professionals at leadership and staff levels both within and outside the organization.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Possess an Active Secret security clearance.
  • The candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain as US Government Common Access Card (CAC) for this position.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience working with senior civilian and military leaders in the Pentagon.
  • Understanding of the development of Air Force safety programs, policies, guidance, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of the Air Force Corporate Structure, such as the Installation Support Panel, and the associated data management systems.
