RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help analyze and interpret cost records to compute the costs of product or services (electric, gas, water, etc.).
  • Establish pricing to recover costs and earn a reasonable return.
  • Develop data necessary to submit, support and complete rate applications and reports before regulatory authorities.
  • Assist with detailed evaluations of projects considering various aspects such as statistical data, strategic goals of the company, competition, and the political/social climate.
  • Ensure that regulated tariffs meet the specifications of the regulatory environment (PSCW, MPUC, FCC, FERC, etc.).
  • Assist with forecasting and scheduling utility nominations for the electric and gas distribution systems and customers.
  • Assist with the administration of firm and interruptible contracts and agreements to ensure the successful transfer of supply across relevant distribution systems.
  • Help ensure compliance with all laws and regulations within the electric, gas, and water utilities.
  • Help research current compliance issues and helps ensure appropriate policies and procedures are in place and being followed.
  • Work directly with accounting, finance, customer service and operations to ensure all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Help develop and implement effective regulatory compliance processes and procedures with both internal and external stakeholders while maintaining working relationships.
  • Contribute regulatory compliance expertise toward Company initiatives.
  • Ensure adequate internal review of regulatory filings.
  • Track and monitor regulation and policy to determine the impact to the Company and to identify priority compliance issues.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships throughout the corporation and with associated external parties.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
    • Degree in business administration, economics, mathematics, political science or accounting preferred

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • No experience required
    • One year utility sector experience preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position will report regularly in person to Superior, WI.
  • Requires excellent oral & written communication skills to build & maintain positive working relationships.
  • This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
