Position Summary
The Senior Program Director at Trusted Advisory Group plays a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the successful execution of multiple complex programs and initiatives. As a key leadership position, the Senior Program Director is responsible for driving program success from strategic planning to implementation. This includes managing multiple projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and aligning program objectives with organizational goals and client expectations. Additionally, the Senior Program Director will directly manage a team of 2-3 project managers or program coordinators, ensuring their professional development and successful performance.
The Senior Program Director reports directly to senior leadership within Trusted Advisory Group. This role works closely with project managers, team leads, executive leadership, and external clients to ensure successful program delivery.
This is a full-time position with standard working hours, Monday to Friday. The Senior Program Director will work in a hybrid environment, office or remote setting. Occasional travel will be required for client meetings, industry events, or program-related activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Define high-level program objectives, scope, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with Trusted Advisory Group’s business goals and client priorities.
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive program plans, including timelines, milestones, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Manage a portfolio of projects, overseeing project managers and ensuring effective communication and collaboration across departments and stakeholders.
- Directly manage and mentor 2-3 program managers or coordinators, providing guidance on project execution, professional development, and performance evaluations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for senior clients and stakeholders, ensuring transparency, addressing concerns, and providing strategic guidance throughout the program lifecycle.
- Monitor and evaluate program progress, including identifying risks, issues, and dependencies, while implementing proactive solutions to mitigate potential challenges.
- Regularly report on program performance, providing status updates, insights, and recommendations to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
- Conduct program reviews and post-implementation evaluations to capture lessons learned, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Oversee financial management of programs, including budgeting, forecasting, and tracking expenditures to ensure cost-efficiency and resource optimization.
- Implement industry-leading program management methodologies, tools, and best practices to streamline operations and enhance overall program success.
- Collaborate with project managers, team leads, and other key personnel to ensure project objectives align with the overarching program and organizational goals.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in program management, proactively recommending innovative approaches for client projects and internal processes.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, project management, or a related field; master’s degree or PMP certification preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in program or project management, with a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex programs.
- Demonstrated expertise in leading multiple projects and teams across various functional areas, particularly in consulting or client service environments.
- Strong understanding of program management principles, methodologies, and best practices, with experience in developing and executing strategic program plans.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and guide project managers and cross-functional teams.
- Experience in managing and developing a team of 2-3 direct reports, with strong mentorship and performance evaluation skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with experience in identifying program risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and effectively to senior clients and executive leadership.
- Proficiency in program management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar platforms) to facilitate effective program planning and tracking.
- Business acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to align program objectives with broader organizational goals and drive long-term success.
