Where You Fit:
Springbrook is currently seeking a technical Senior Revenue Accountant to join our Order to Cash (OTC) team. As a Revenue Accountant and an individual with a strong technical understanding of ASC 606, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate revenue recognition, compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the company's financial operations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, professional services, and legal, to ensure revenue recognition aligns with business activities and contract terms.
This is a remote position though strong preference will be given to candidates who reside near the office in American Fork, UT.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret complex customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
- Maintain and enhance existing processes and controls for newer, evolving product offerings ensuring revenue is recognized in accordance with GAAP and internal revenue recognition policies
- Work with sales, professional services, and legal teams to review and understand contract terms, ensuring alignment between contract language and revenue recognition policies
- Prepare and maintain documentation supporting revenue recognition conclusions
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules and reconciliations related to revenue and accounts receivable
- Prepare revenue-related journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
- Reconcile revenue accounts and investigate discrepancies, making necessary adjustments as needed
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements related to revenue recognition and related accounting processes
- Contribute to the enhancement of internal controls and compliance procedures to maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data
- Provide support for periodic Standalone Selling Price (SSP) analyses
- Assist in the coordination of internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations related to revenue recognition practices and procedures
- Support ad-hoc accounting projects and analysis as required
- Maintain general awareness of Springbrook security and privacy policies
- Report any security incident or suspected security incident to the Springbrook Incident Response Team
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 5 years of experience in revenue recognition, preferably in a SaaS or technology company
- Solid understanding of ASC 606 and revenue recognition principles
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
- Advanced Excel skills
- High attention to detail
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Public accounting experience
- Licensed CPA or progress towards a CPA
- Sage Intacct and Salesforce.com proficiency
