The Challenge
We are looking for an experienced Surveying Technician to join our Smithfield Resident Engineering team.
In this role, you will:

- Perform survey work on complex construction projects.
- Supervise survey crews and junior technicians.
- Make independent decisions.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, contractors, and the public.
- Review contractor's survey submittals and provide checks of their construction layouts in the field.
What You Bring
-
- Ability to read, interpret, and explain such things as construction plans, contract provisions, and specification/inspection procedures.
- Safety toe shoes.
- Experience using surveying equipment, instruments, levels, data collectors, and GPS equipment.
- Experience with math functions, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Experience performing highway construction stakeouts.
- Experience conducting independent, moderately-complex surveying.
- Computer experience, including Microsoft office and drafting software.
Education & Experience

- Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or a related field, and
- 7+ years relevant technician-level experience; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.

- You will be exposed to outside environmental hazards, confined areas, and may be required to work at night and on weekends.
