Job Summary:

Candidate will be responsible for maintaining a test environment for a complex virtualized system architecture in a next generation training platform for a future Department of Defense (DoD) training environment. This is an in-office position with the ability for remote work as required and approved in Port Orange, Florida.

Essential Job Functions:

The System Administrator must have advanced knowledge with PowerShell scripting and the ability to modify and adjust components within Active Directory in Windows Server 2019 Domain Controllers. Components include but are not limited to DNS, DHCP scopes, Users and Computers, and NPS. The Candidate should also have experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and the knowledge on how to SSH from multiple operating systems. Must be familiar with planning, testing, and implementing new security technologies and security configurations that will support requirements from the customer.

The Candidate will have to assist in troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis in the event of a patch, component, device, or system failure. Proficiency in event viewer or log analysis to troubleshoot issues. Must be able to coordinate productively and diplomatically with vendors, team members, developers, contractors, and subcontractors.

Will be required to create documentation and diagrams that reflect updates for systems already in place and environments still in the design phase.

Must be a self-starter and able to prioritize multiple tasks on demand in a fast paced and constantly changing environment. In turn, must be flexible based on the requirements from the customer.

Required Skillset:

  • Periodic travel to Cole Engineering Facility in Orlando, FL with mileage reimbursement
  • Work independently on-site without requiring constant supervision.
  • Take technical direction for work assignments and overall requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge in Windows Servers 2019 Domain Controllers
  • Advanced knowledge in writing PowerShell scripts to modify and apply changes. May be required to write procedures and programs to automate repetitive processes.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Install patches and upgrades to OS for Microsoft Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Apply cyber system security lockdowns mandated by DISA. Will work with the cyber team on the STIG Checklist and compliance.
  • Assist in isolation and troubleshooting of operating systems, installing applications, configuring network equipment including switches, and providing solutions to operational problems.
  • Setup and manage web and data file servers used during training exercises and events.
  • Familiarity with VMWare vCenter & vSphere
  • Familiarity with network configurations and security.
  • Capable of lifting and moving of equipment

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as IT, computer science, systems or software engineering from an accredited college or university. (6 years’ experience in lieu of degree)
  • 8570 Compliant IAT Level II or greater. Security+, CISSP or other equivalent certification required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong testing experience
  • Strong Linux support skills
  • Familiar with Ansible and Chocolatey Software
  • VMWare applications knowledge
  • Basic Networking using Cisco devices.
  • Knowledge of modeling and simulations systems used by US military.

Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U. S. Citizenship status with ability to obtain a SECRET to TOP SECRET security clearance. Security Clearance requirements will be specified in the Government's Task Order.
