GROUNDS MAINTENANCE SITE SUPERVISOR
Peninsula Services is seeking a skilled and reliable Grounds Maintenance Supervisor.

GENERAL SUMMARY: Assists Project Manager in ensuring that Grounds Crew members perform a variety of tasks necessary to meet the grounds maintenance contract of industrial, commercial, or public property, as outlined in the contract requirements.
REPORTS TO: Grounds Maintenance Project Manager
Basic Requirements:
- The Site Supervisor will assist the Project Manager in ensuring that Grounds Crew members perform the variety of tasks necessary to meet the grounds maintenance contracts of industrial, commercial, or public property.
- Instruct crew members on the proper use of tractors equipped with a variety of grounds-keeping attachments.
- Train crew members on all equipment.
- Use MS Project or Excel to develop/implement yearly schedule according to contract requirements.
- Responsible for inventory, production/productivity standards, computer generated payroll information and other computer reports as required, including incident or accident reports, detailing worker behavioral problems, and daily reports to provide concerns with company vehicles or the site, quality control and safety.
- Must obtain within 90 days of hire and maintain pest control (herbicide license), and all other licensing as required and attend training programs as requested/required.
- Monitor the activities of, and provide direction to, all workers engaged in multiple tasks to ensure the completion of the task according to the constraints of the contract. Details are included in the Position Description.
Qualifications:
- Must have previous supervisory experience.
- Valid WA Driver’s license required and must be eligible for company insurance coverage.
- Must have irrigation system experience.
- Knowledge of Source America requirements for productivity timings is desirable.
- Knowledge of timekeeping and payroll desirable.
- Experience working with people with disabilities is preferable.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Instruct crew members on the proper use of tractors equipped with attachments, such as mowers, lime, or fertilizer spreaders, loaders, lawn rollers, and snow removal equipment.
- Train crew members on all equipment such as lawn mowers, spreaders, and snow removal equipment using hand, gas and power operated tools as needed.
- Write incident reports to provide details of any deviation from work, including accidents and or worker behavior problems.
- Write daily reports to provide details of any concerns with the conditions of any of the company vehicles or the site in general.
- Will develop/implement yearly schedule according to contract requirements using Microsoft Project/Excel.
- Must obtain within 90 days of hire and maintain pest control (herbicide license), and all other licensing as required.
- Attend training programs as requested/required.
- Responsible for inventory, production/productivity standards, computer generated payroll information and other computer reports as required, quality control, safety.
- In addition, the Site Supervisor will monitor the activities of and provide direction to all workers engaged in the following tasks to ensure the completion of the task according to the constraints of the contract:
- Mow lawns using hand and power operated mowers.
- Trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls, using clippers, line trimmer, and edging tools.
- Prune shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs, using shears, pruners, chain saws, or gas powered hedgers.
- Spray lawns, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides, using hand and/or electric pump backpack sprayers.
- Rake and bag leaves collected from grounds & parking lots, then deliver to dumping site.
- Clean grounds and parking lots by removing litter using sweeper, blower or rake.
- Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs using best practice horticultural recommendations.
- Water lawns and shrubs using hoses or by activating fixed or portable sprinkler systems.
- Clean and drain ditches and culverts using shovels and rakes. Will oversee/ provide support for irrigation crew projects.
- Operate a variety of gas powered machinery as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
