Fleet Services Mechanic
This position performs maintenance and repairs of fleet vehicles, including cars, trucks and construction equipment. Additionally, cross-training is an important element of this position as each day brings exciting challenges working on a variety of vehicles or equipment such as a parks mower, paver machine, Bobcat, backhoe or firetruck.
Minimum Requirements:
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Three (3) or more years of experience as a mechanic in the repair and maintenance of automobiles, light and heavy trucks, and light and heavy equipment.
- Be able to furnish and maintain your own basic hand tools up to ½ inch drive along with locking tool box.
- Possession of licenses within six (6) months of hire date:
- Air Conditioning Recovery License.
- Class A Oregon Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), with air brake endorsement.
- Requires possession of a valid driver’s license by date of hire. New employees establishing resident status in the State of Oregon must obtain an Oregon driver’s license within 30 days (ORS 807.020 (1)).

- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification
- Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) certification
- Within six (6) months of hire, establish residence no more than 30 minutes normal travel time to the Service Center located at 821 N. Columbus Avenue.
Total Annual Compensation Package:
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $28.08 (first step) to $29.36 or $30.69 (second or third step). Directly related experience and qualifications will be evaluated alongside others who perform work of comparable character as required by Pay Equity Law. Six steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.
