Reporting to the Senior DevOps Engineer, the Data Repository Engineer builds tools and systems to support the research data lifecycle and facilitate open-access publishing. The incumbent works on multiple projects, including regular interactions and collaboration with a team of developers, designers, and project managers. These include the migration and maintenance of collaborative storage environments; a repository for research datasets; and a connecting environment to facilitate the movement of data through the lifecycle. Performs day-to-day advanced user support for research data systems. Participates in planning for new services to support an evolving landscape. *Remote Work Friendly*

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Education:
Relevant technical certifications or trainings

Required Experience:
3+ years At least 3 years of experience supporting and managing storage infrastructure.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in an academic environment working with researchers and/or research data. Experience with large-scale data storage systems and databases (big data).

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Familiarity with file storage systems, NAS/SAN, understanding of NFS and SMB/CIFS protocols. Familiarity with Python. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently. Excellent oral and written skills. Ability to communicate effectively with computational researchers as well as non-technical scholars

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Awareness of open source communities and best practices for accessibility.
