Mechanical Engineer PE
Job Title: Mechanical Engineer- PE
Experience Required: Minimum 5+ years
Travel Required: Estimated up to 20%
Required Education: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering, PE License
Key Duties and Major Responsibilities:
- Direct, prepare and assist with engineering designs, studies, and reports.
- Design mechanical equipment, systems and modifications for facilities (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, and fire protection systems) in Revit.
- Prepare technical specifications, material estimates, correspondence, technical reports, and portions of design memoranda.
- Prepare construction plans and prepare layouts for development of drawings by others.
- Review completed work for technical adequacy and completeness.
- Make site visits to identify, resolve, and eliminate design conflicts.
- Provide solutions to mechanical construction issues.
- Coordinate reviews and recommend approval action of shop drawings, submittals, and O&M manuals submitted on construction projects.
- Evaluate design objectives, perform complex technical calculations, identify economical and efficient procedures for design and resolve applicability of criteria.
- Prepare detailed engineering economic analyses to produce more energy efficient operations.
- Coordinate in multi-disciplinary design team meetings.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of departmental design standards, applicable building codes, and Valhalla guidelines, providing suggestions and recommendations as needed.
- Other design / engineering tasks as assigned.
