Healthy Minds and Healthy Bodies Specialist
Promptly reply to veteran interest via phone call and e-mail. Promote the program through outreach events. Set meetings with veterans to go over registration paperwork and verify the veteran is qualified to join the program.
May assist with implementing NISRA’s Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies monthly social events for qualifying veterans and their families.
The Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies program is designed for injured veterans and consists of three main components. Those three components are: gym membership for a year, 15 personal training sessions and monthly networking events, all at no cost to the injured veteran. These events are designed to promote interaction and networking amongst the Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies veterans.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess NISRA Values
- Experience with veterans and veteran culture
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to work effectively with veterans, families and NISRA staff
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and empathy towards people
- Demonstrate dependability, professionalism, promptness and punctuality
- Driver must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid Illinois Class “D” driver’s license
- Certification in First Aid/CPR/AED, or attainable upon hire
DUTIES:
*Schedule, plan, market, lead and evaluate the all aspects of the Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies monthly socials.
*Coordinate and conduct all new veteran intakes, and enter into data sheet.
*Adhere to any and all Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies guidelines and complete all necessary paperwork related to the Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies program.
*Demonstrate professional attitude and quality customer service towards veteran participants, families, staff and general public as a representative of NISRA.
*Participate in the on-site organization of all social activities scheduled.
*Assist with purchasing supplies and equipment, where needed. Take initiative to set up and greet veterans and family members
*Arrive at program site 15 minutes before scheduled activity and be prepared to stay after program for clean-up and departure of attendees.
*Attend veteran marketing events throughout NISRA’s 13 member districts.
*Communicate regularly with Manager of Special Olympics and HMHB regarding any program related concerns.
*Notify Manager of Special Olympics and HMHB immediately of any illness or injury that conflicts with program responsibilities and/or attendance.
*Adhere to all NISRA guidelines for employment including policies, procedures, health and safety.
*Gathering, loading, transporting and setting up equipment.
*Be an active participant in the agencies strategic planning and budgeting process and implementation.
*Perform related duties as required.
