Founded in 1971 in Long Island City, Queens, LaGuardia Community College is one of seven community colleges of the City University of New York/CUNY. LaGuardia offers more than sixty associate degree and certificate programs, as well as dozens of workforce training, ESOL, GED, and pre-college programs. Reporting to the Chair of Health Sciences, the successful candidate will:
- Provide administrative and program support to health science simulation activities;
- Coordinate, schedule, and disseminate schedules of the simulation labs and equipment;
- Maintain simulation lab inventory and the requisition of supplies and equipment, and monitor their maintenance and need for replacement;
- Provide instructions and basic advice to students, faculty, and others seeking information on simulation activities, policies, and schedules;
- Assist with set up and operating equipment used during a simulation and subsequent debriefing activities; (high fidelity simulators, sim man 3G, electronic medication carts, EMR software and audiovisual systems);
- Assist with the development and implementation of workshops for faculty, students and staff to maintain up-to-date knowledge regarding simulation equipment and resources;
- Collaborate with the IT department to maintain and troubleshoot computer systems, software, and hardware;
- Assist with design and programming of clinical simulation modules / sessions in collaboration with Faculty;
- Facilitate outreach activities aimed at promoting awareness of the services offered by the simulation Lab;
- Coordinate student worker schedules with simulation lab activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Two years of related experience or combination of advanced education and work experience preferred. Experience working with adult learners / higher education is preferred. Experience working or teaching in a health care related field preferred. Candidates should be comfortable using technology and educational software. The successful candidate will have demonstrated strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
